How to Read Odds
Odds are written in three formats — decimal, fractional and American. Here is an example to explain each.
Example 1 — The same odds in all three formats
Team A to win, bet ৳1,000
The three formats look different but mean the same thing. If you win the bet, you receive ৳2,500 — that is ৳1,500 profit plus your original ৳1,000 back. If you lose, you lose ৳1,000.
Example 2 — Odds for the favourite
Team B to win (favourite), bet ৳1,000
The favourite's odds are lower. Here a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,500 — meaning ৳500 profit. In American format, the minus sign shows how much you need to bet to win ৳100.
Multi Bet — Example with three selections
Decimal odds for three matches: 1.60 × 1.70 × 1.80 = 4.90 (approximate)
With a ৳100 bet, if all three selections are correct you receive ৳490. If even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost. A multi bet offers a higher potential payout, but all selections must be correct.
When a wicket falls, the odds change — how live betting works
Live in-play betting means placing bets while the match is in progress. In cricket, every wicket, every six or a poor over causes an immediate shift in the odds. For example — if the batting team is in a strong position at the end of the first powerplay, their odds of winning will shorten because they have become the favourite.
